For the 4/1 meeting, long-time Guild Council member Dale Watson will be speaking about Informatica, which sounds like a rather interesting graphical development environment. He'll show us what it's like to code in Informatica, and tell us about his experiences working in that environment. It should prove very enlightening, and might even give us a glimpse of what other, future programming languages might look like.

Tom Wulf, Associate Professor of Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati will give a presentation on the Alice 3D programming environment.   Alice was developed by a team at Carnagie-Mellon led by Randy Pausch,  (best known for The Last Lecture) and serves as a teaching tool for introductory programming concepts.

So agile has pretty much gone mainstream.  That's wonderful and all, but if you're using a programming language that's keeping you stuck writing hideous amounts of code you're not going realize all the awesome you can.  It's time to embrace change at the programming language level as well as the process level.
